Had to stretch hard to keep up with a neighbors awesome jam session and BBQ. Thanks to Claudia and her great musician friends who brought the level down a little for me! I loved hearing your brazilian pop and I'm going to learn some brazilian tunes now!

Thanksgiving week has been a music filled time in NYC. Between my cousin Russ, sister-in-law, Monique, and my nieces and their SO's, 2 of whom are attending Berklee, we covered everything from the 70"s to today and spent hours with the piano and a couple of guitars and bongos in Mom's living room. The 7 part harmonies on Jeff Buckley's version of Hallelujah were one of the highlights of the event as was the incredible impromptu Elton John medley! See you again next year for even more!

Funny how random music and business and life can be... Well I happened to be in Sam Ash Music in Coral Springs looking at drums and drum heads for my bongos... And just generally browsing about. I ended up in a discussion with a manager and a customer about which snare drum the customer was banging on sounded better for his blues/jazz band. Turned out he was looking for a singer/keyboardist and had some heavy gigs planned and pending. Wouldn't you know it... I happened to know a good one, Monique Chalk (See my links)... and they are now gigging out.
